What Makes Le Freq Different

Intelligent LED Spacing

Many LED masks place diodes against the skin, concentrating light in small areas. Le Freq was designed differently.

The LEDs sit slightly lifted from the face and are intentionally spaced apart, allowing light to disperse across the skin rather than concentrating intensity in a single spot.

Light naturally travels in a cone-shaped pattern. By spacing the LEDs apart, each diode illuminates a wider surface area, allowing wavelengths to spread across the skin more evenly.

The result is a treatment that remains comfortable, avoids overstimulation, and distributes light more intelligently across the face and under the skin.

More LEDs packed tightly together does not necessarily mean better results. What matters is how the light travels and how the skin receives it.

Breathable, Heat-Controlled Design

LED diodes naturally generate heat. When diodes sit flush against the skin without ventilation, heat can become trapped between the device and the face.

The skin itself also produces heat during treatment. When that warmth cannot dissipate, it can lead to overstimulation and may trigger flare-ups in sensitive skin, including redness or pigmentation. LE FREQ was designed to prevent this. The LEDs sit slightly lifted from the skin and are spaced apart within an open, breathable grid structure that allows airflow during treatment.

This design reflects Jill Black’s approach to light therapy: more LEDs and tighter spacing do not necessarily produce better results. What matters is how light, heat, and airflow interact with the skin.

The result is consistent illumination, controlled temperature, and a treatment experience that remains comfortable without overheating the skin.

Light as Cellular Communication

Light therapy works through a process called photobiomodulation.

When specific wavelengths of light reach the skin, they are absorbed by photoreceptors inside the cell’s mitochondria — the energy centers of the cell.
